Hey everybody. This is Sarah Waple, partner at Growth Dynamics, and I am here with a Fast Tip Friday.
Lately, Charlie and I have been talking to many clients — both new and veteran — about activity. We have been reviewing 100-Point Week sheets with everyone lately. I'm not sure if people are looking to make sure they're on their goals or just getting back into their activity tracking.
So this is your reminder that you need to know what you're doing and where you're spending your time so that you can continue to hit your goals. Doing unpaid sales activity, office work, things like that — yes, it's all part of the job. But are you hitting your numbers? On your prospecting goals? On your conversations with others out there? On your decision makers?
Are you tracking how well you are doing all of those things? Without knowing what you are doing, when you call us for coaching, we're kind of in a blind spot. We can do our best, but if you tell us you're doing all the work and the reality is you're not, no matter what we do and no matter how we coach you, without you putting in the effort we will not be able to be successful together.
So let us do our part with the coaching, with the behavior modification, with all of those other pieces that go into sales without actually being the selling portion. And you have to do the work, track your activity, and know your numbers to know where we can help you get better, get stronger, be more efficient, be more effective — whatever that is.
If you do not know your activity and what you're doing day to day, week to week, you will never be able to hit your goals in the time that you are looking to hit them. So this is just a simple reminder to know what your activity is. Use a tracking sheet — whether that's our 100-Point Week system or a different system that you've found that works for you — and make sure you are tracking that activity to be able to build your success and know what is contributing to your success.
Because I promise you, there might be a little bit that's luck, but the rest of it is your hard work and the activity to get you where you want to be.
