Hey everybody, happy Fast Tip Friday.
It’s Charlie Hauck—Trainer, Founder of Growth Dynamics.
This has been a long, long journey of recording these little weekly messages for all of you. Maybe you laugh at them, maybe you enjoy them, maybe you get something out of them—or maybe you just shrug and say, “What the hell did I just waste my time watching this guy for?”
Hey, it is what it is. I did it. You could’ve changed the channel. But here we are.
One thing I’ve been thinking about lately is how easy it is to take things for granted—especially when it comes to something as simple as where we’re looking.
What I mean is: the direction of your gaze affects how you experience the world around you. We always have a choice in what we focus on.
Something that’s helped me over the years—no matter what I’m facing—is making the intentional choice to keep my eyes up… toward the sky.
Because when I’m looking up, something powerful happens. I can see more clearly. I feel more hopeful. I notice opportunity and potential in ways I simply don’t when my head is down.
When your eyes are down, your shoulders droop, and your focus sinks, it’s easy to feel stuck. But when you look upward, you invite a shift—physiologically and emotionally.
Here’s a little example I love:
Think about ancient Greek amphitheaters. The audience sat in seats that curved upward around the stage. That setup wasn’t just for construction purposes—it was intentional.
Audiences looked downward at the performance. And when your head and eyes are down, your chest compresses, your diaphragm tightens, and your oxygen intake decreases. That physical posture affects your emotions—you literally feel more closed off, more negative, more reactive. That’s why Greek tragedies hit so hard—they were enhanced by how the audience was physically experiencing them.
Here’s something wild:
You can’t cry while looking at the sky.
Sounds like a cheesy rhyme, but it’s true. Try it sometime.
So my message today is simple:
Look up. Eyes to the sky.
There is blue sky potential all around us—no matter what’s going on. When you let your gaze lift, you see the enormity and possibility of the world above you. It helps you stay positive, grounded, and forward-moving—even through hard times.
Keep your head up. Don’t let your posture pull your mindset down.
Because at the end of the day, if you do the right things with the right attitude, you’ll find that most challenges are overcome with effort, focus, and a little support.
So that’s your tip for today:
Look up. Breathe deep. Stay positive.
There’s another day, another chance, and a whole sky of opportunity waiting for you.
Have a great Friday—and an even better weekend.
