Fast Tip Friday: Visualizing Your Way to Success

Hey everybody. How are you? It's Charlie, your President and lead trainer at Growth Dynamics, doing the Fast Tip Friday thing again for you here today.

Thanks for checking in. Thanks for listening. Thanks for your commitment — not just to us, but to yourself. That’s where it really matters.

What I want to share with you today is something that I think is very important. I’ve seen it work in my life. I’ve seen it work in my daughters’ lives. I’ve seen it work in a lot of people’s lives. I don’t think I share it enough or remind people enough of how important visualization can be to helping you get where you want to go.

So what do I mean by visualization? It’s the practice of seeing what you want as far as success goes. It’s the idea of putting a picture up, whether it’s in your mind or on the wall — and frankly, it should be on the wall. It’s like the thermometer that you see on the courthouse lawn for the United Way every Christmas season. We can visualize how successful that campaign is, and it actually inspires people to contribute more. They want to be part of filling up that thermometer and seeing that 100% line painted in.

So what I’d like you all to do is challenge yourselves to take a little extra time and really identify the goals that are compelling you to go to work and do your best work — day after day and week after week. If you don’t know what you’re doing it for, it’s hard to stay self-motivated.

And frankly, it’s not your boss’s job to tell you to go to work. It’s his or her job to give you a good place to work — to have the benefit of the best success you can generate. But if you don’t have your own reasons for doing it, you’re not going to have the energy or the commitment to do it for someone else.

So whether it’s a new car, a world-class vacation, bringing another person into this world, redoing your kitchen, or just looking at your bank account and knowing that you have safety and security — you should visualize all these things. Put it somewhere where you see it regularly, consciously, so it gets to the point that subconsciously, it is the switch that turns itself on and gets you going — even to do the things you might not want to do every day.

I’ve relied on this for a while, and every now and then I do this Fast Tip Friday to remind myself to not just talk, but practice these habits as well.

So get yourself some pictures, put a dream board together, and really commit to making your dreams come true. Because if you’re smart about it, you’ll know what to do, how to do it, and when to do it — so that you’ll be able to check those things off and say, “You know what? I did get it done. I am worth that success. And I can do it again — even at a higher level.”

Because what I believe, I can achieve. But the first part is being able to see it so that you can stay committed to it.

So get your dreams together, create a visual image, and go out there and see how successful and how wonderful your life can be.

Have a great weekend and a great week next week — and picture where you want to be, so that you can go celebrate your success and how awesome you truly are.

Thanks for watching. Thanks for listening. Take care.
