One of the things I think that we can't ever speak too much about, and I'm sure I've spoken about this topic a few times, but I'm going to bring it up again just because I think there's so many things that are part of our cultural existence for a lot of us, not everyone, but I think it's a topic that when we look around the world and we see the things that are successful or more successful than other things, the ones that tend to have the greatest track record or produce the best results have some element of accountability.
Without accountability, there probably isn't a real belief that you can ever be as productive as possible because you never measure enough to see if you're going fast enough, far enough, high enough, whatever it is. If you're not accountable to anything, how do you really keep score? What kind of caught my mental eye, if that phrase makes any sense, was putting my Garmin watch mini computer accountability device on my wrist every day.
What it does is tells me every day if I did the right amount of exercise to hit the goal that I've set for my body weight or my metabolism or just for an activity target, it tells me regularly if I'm doing the things I need to do. And so I would bet that close to 50% of the people that watch this Fast Tip Friday video, or listen to it, have some sort of personal accountability device attached to them someway, somehow that tells you whether or not you're on track doing the things health wise that you need to do.
You can get calorie counters, you can get food intake stuff, you can get diet diaries, you can get all kinds of things that help you track how productive you are. So I'm asking those of you that rely on these types of devices to take that philosophy into your business life and make it part of how you go from where you are to where you want to be.
Develop some accountabilities. Don't just talk about them. Actually do them. Track your numbers, count your success ratios, calculate the average volume or the average value of a transaction that you succeed in and really see if you're doing the right things to get you where you want to go. It's the fourth quarter, it's the end of the year. It's probably too hard to make up your deficit if you haven't hit your goal by this point, but it does give you an opportunity to ramp up and get ready for 2024.
Get your device activated, put the information in, diagnose the data, look at the patterns and what the data is telling you and the statistics that you're willing to commit to. Take a look at what it takes to build another plan for an even more successful 2024. Don't make success accidental. Make it disciplined and predictable.
That's it for this Friday. Have a great weekend, everybody. Rock and roll on Monday. It's time to close out 2023. Take care.
