Hey everybody, Charlie Hauck, President, Founder, Lead Trainer at Growth Dynamics.
Here's a little tip: when you add visual tracking to your personal production management, your results will change almost exponentially.
One of the things I want to do is remind you of something we've all seen growing up in our communities. As kids, we never knew what the hell they were doing it for, other than to ask for more money, and that is the tried-and-true effect of the United Way thermometer.
There it was on the courthouse in West Chester, PA, the big thermometer where they tracked how much money had been donated to the United Way. Every week, you could drive by and see a little more red painted on that thermometer.
Yes, they wanted to let everybody know how successful their efforts had been, but let me tell you what the sneak attack was. They wanted you to see it and want to be part of that success. When people see regular, consistent growth and improvement, they like to hang out with winners, and that United Way thermometer was a public winner that people wanted to be part of.
So, if you want to increase your productivity and your consistency of success, start your own United Way thermometer. Put your goal at the top. Draw the stem. Put the bulb where the mercury would sit in a thermometer. Then, each month, put your progress in there: the revenue you generated, the new accounts you acquired, and the things that you need to track that are the benchmarks and the carriage of your success.
My recommendation to all of you is to get public with your commitment and put that goal right out there. Whether it's anybody walking into your office, or if you work for yourself, put it in your family room or in your bathroom where you can see it. Ask yourself, am I producing enough in the time that I wanted to do it? Give yourself a real chance to accelerate your growth, improve your results, and have self-created visual reinforcement and stimulation for you to go out and do the things you've got to do.
Visual tracking makes a difference. Don't leave home without it.
Take care, everybody. Have a great weekend. Make next week special. It can be for you and your family.
