Hey everybody, Charlie, Growth Dynamics, you know the drill. Fast Tip Friday, here for a quick but valuable lesson.
Hey, I’ve probably talked about this particular tip on how to grow your business more than any other tip that I’ve recorded over the last three to four years, and that is the deliberate practice of giving referrals and introductions as much as possible, not just in your business life, but in your entire life.
I have found that Emerson's Law of Compensation, which basically states the more you give, the more you get, is one of the true great assets that you have to keep as a belief for as long as you can. If you can truly commit to the fact that the best way to get what I want is to give others more than they ever expected to get from me, I believe the universe will take care of you and will make sure that, in the long run, although it may not be tit for tat with a particular individual. Say you give somebody a lot of referrals, but you never get any from them, that's fine.
They may just not be able to, or they struggle with it. Let them go and trust that the rest of the world will find a way to pay you back for the commitment that you’ve made to helping them.
The more you give, the more you get. It’s just never been wrong in my life. I don’t worry about keeping score. I don’t worry about when the benefit comes back to me. I just worry about: have I made enough opportunities to connect two people that may benefit from the power of our relationships? Have I made the effort to let them take advantage of that power?
And when I do that, regardless of the outcome that they see from my efforts, I always get something back, and most often, it happens when I least expect it.
Reinvigorate yourself to the practice of giving referrals and introductions, helping other people with the power and the value of your relationships, and just trust that the universe will find a way to send that same goodness back to you.
Thanks again for watching and listening. Have a great Friday and a great weekend.
