Fast Tip Friday: Spring into Action... Q1 is OVER!

Hey, look, the seasons are changing, and the warm weather is coming. I think there are actually some flowers poking their heads up in the gardens around our house. And that's just a reminder... The first quarter is now over.

You're 25% of the way through 2025. And I swear it was like yesterday or a week ago when we were all popping champagne and thinking, "Hallelujah, it's New Year's Eve, and a new year is about to start." Well, it started, and whether you were ready or not, it's moving—and it's moving fast. The last thing you want to do is get to the end of the third quarter and realize you should have started thinking about it before the end of the first quarter.

So, what I'm asking everybody to do is take stock of where you are and what you're doing. Track your behaviors. Look at your pipeline. Look at the opportunities that are really true opportunities that you're trying to manage. And think about how much of that is going to advance you toward the goal you set for yourself at the beginning of the year.

And let's talk about something that people often don't mention in this topic. If you didn't set goals for what your best year of business development is supposed to look like, don't be surprised if you come up far short of what you thought you were capable of doing.

It's spring, it's the time of renewal, the sun is warmer, and we just went through daylight savings time changes. You should be able to get out there and really grab this year—make it successful—if you start planning your business behavior now. Know your business cycle, know how many weeks or months it takes from the discovery of an opportunity to payment in your bank account, and start managing the timeline of success in your business development opportunities. Don't hope you have enough there, because as we all know, hope is never a reliable sales success strategy.

So plant your feet. Make decisions. And take time to process what needs to get done for you to hit your financial goals in 2025.
