Fast Tip Friday: The Recipe for Success in 2025

Dec 20, 2024 7:00:00 AM

Hey everybody, Charlie Hauck here — president, trainer, and founder of Growth Dynamics. Welcome to another Fast Tip Friday!

As we approach the end of the year, I want to reemphasize some of the fundamental, core concepts we share with our clients. Hopefully, if you’re listening to this, you’ve been in a room with us or attended a Zoom meeting as one of our training clients. Today, I want to remind you that success is like a recipe.

Just like in the kitchen, creating something great requires certain components and ingredients. You need to know what those ingredients are and ensure you have the right amounts if you want to achieve the desired outcome. Whether it’s taking something out of the oven or off the grill, it’s all about understanding and executing the process.

For this instance, the “recipe” I want you to focus on is creating a more dynamic, reliable, and successful performance in your business development efforts. To do that, you need to identify the ingredients and measure them carefully.

Where do you get your recipe for success? Hopefully, you’ve been tracking your numbers:

  • How many attempts are you making to prospect new opportunities?
  • How many times a week are you asking someone, “Would you mind if I got on your calendar for a business conversation about my offering or service?”

If you’re not managing this key ingredient, chances are you’re not going to see the results you’re looking for. Your cake will be flat, your potatoes will be lumpy, and your desserts will be lousy. In short, you’ll be disappointed with the results you’re forced to accept — and it won’t be rewarding or satisfying.

As the year wraps up, take some time to evaluate your performance and ensure your “recipe” has the right balance of each ingredient:

  • How much prospecting are you doing?
  • How many first business conversations are you having?
  • How many discovery meetings are on your calendar?
  • How many yes/no decisions are you facilitating each week?

If you’re not tracking these metrics, you’re probably not in control of the sales process you’re relying on to deliver the financial and personal rewards you desire. Don’t guess. While I love freelancing in the kitchen, I would never freelance with my business and financial success.

Stick to the recipe, and you’ll guarantee the best outcomes. Add your personal touch, but don’t neglect the main ingredients. Laziness or lack of discipline will only sabotage your results.

Thanks for listening and watching! Have a great weekend, enjoy the success you’ve created this past week, and get ready to create even more before the year ends. Here’s to a fantastic close to 2024 and an amazing start to 2025. Take care!
