I just want to share another idea about the time of the year that it is. It's back to school season, and I think back to school season is a perfect time to remind everybody in the business development profession, that learning isn't just for kids in elementary school, high school, college, maybe even grad school. Learning is for everybody that's fully committed to their profession. One of the things that we know is that there's a lot of exercises that are done that people think are business development training, when really all they are is product training.
For my money, the salespeople that become most valuable to their organization, are the salespeople that understand that investing in learning how to perform their craft better than the competition, are the ones that produce more consistently higher average business generation than the people who are out there hustling product peddling services.
So, my reminder today is pretty simple and pretty short. Work on your game. Don't think that just because you're doing it you're learning, you've got to commit to the process of learning, of trying new things, taking risks, learning from the experience, asking and getting feedback from people that can help you learn what they struggled to learn in their career.
So, don't think of back to school is just something you've got to do for the younger people in our society. It's time for all of us to commit to it, particularly in this last quarter. Let's get a good 90 days of learning. Let's get accumulated learning. Let's get invested learning. Let's commit to improving the process we rely on to make money and do the best job we can for our customers, our prospects, and to be better equipped to eliminate the suspects.
